I'm Daniel. I lead a software engineering team at Entirely in Munich by day, and by night I build Mailover, an AI email client that reads your inbox so you don't have to. Before that I spent years shipping to millions of users at CHECK24, and before that I was the developer who built almost every feature of a small SaaS on his own.
Everything here comes out of that work: what I got wrong, what I'd do differently, and the few things that turned out to hold.
Why the writing exists
I started writing to think. Building alone is quiet work, and the ideas that felt obvious in my head fell apart the moment I had to put them in a sentence. Publishing turned out to be the cheapest way to find the holes.
So the essays here are arguments I've actually needed. Distribution, because I built a good product nobody could find. Onboarding, because half my sign-ups never finished it. Feedback, because I had to write yearly reviews for a team and hated every template I found.
The idea underneath all of it is kaizen: 1% better, daily, for decades. It's an unglamorous way to work. It's also the only one I've seen compound.
Mute the world, and build your own.
I care more about process than outcome, consistency than intensity, and evidence than confidence. When I'm wrong about something here, I'd rather find out early.
