The Status Game

Everyone plays some sort of status game

and we all think our game is better than others

be it a virtue game, dominance game, or success game

by not playing someone else’s game, you are implying their game is inferior than the game you prefer to play

status play is all we do.

This was the most objective, nuanced and insightful read I had in a long time.

I learned about science, history, politics, human nature, society… it was brilliant.
