the Mac App Store edition
Your Markdown files, folders, preferences, and workspace index stay on your Mac. Markview does not require an account, include analytics, show ads, or use tracking technology.
Markview only accesses files and folders you choose through the macOS file picker. macOS may store a security-scoped bookmark so Markview can reopen a workspace you selected.
optional support chat
Markview connects to DD Labs only after you send a support message or return to an existing support conversation. DD Labs receives the message you choose to send, a random support identifier, the app version, and the platform name. Markview does not automatically attach documents, filenames, folder paths, searches, agent prompts, or diagnostic logs.
Support messages are encrypted at rest, used only to provide customer support, and are not used for analytics, advertising, or tracking. They are deleted when you choose Delete Conversation and otherwise retained for no more than 12 months after the conversation's last activity. The random identifier is not linked to your Apple account or a hardware identifier.
optional agent chat
Markview can optionally run Codex CLI or Claude Code when you start an agent chat. Those tools use the provider account, permissions, and settings already configured on your Mac. Markview does not store provider credentials.
If you use that optional feature, the selected provider may receive the content you send through its tool. Its own privacy policy and account settings apply.
