Timeless wisdom is the most important type of input that you need to prioritize when feeding your mind.
If something could last for thousands of years, well, it is most likely that it can be a significant source of value.
I see people struggle (including myself) with life.
Some more and some less.
And in most cases, the root cause of their suffering is ignoring what is the core pillar of Epictetus’s philosophy:
- Confusing what you can control and what you can’t control and as a consequence trying to influence and change what you can’t control and ignoring what you have control over.
Events happen as they do regardless of what we interpret as “good” and “bad”.
- There is no “justice” in nature.
- There is no “good” or “bad” in nature.
- There is no “regard” for how we feel and think in nature.
We forget to align our wishes with the laws of nature because we skip learning these laws in the first place.
You can do everything right and still lose!!
It’s just that kind of a planet!
But if you know probability, you start to do things that increase your odds of winning next time.
This book is a tremendous source of actionable insight and value, to have a better life.
Happy reading! 📙
