“Never Quit” is a spectacularly bad piece of advice.

I think the advice-giver meant to say: “Never quit something with great long-term potential just because you can’t deal with the stress of the moment.” Now that’s good advice.

Quit fast and quit often.

I really liked the idea of quitting when the long-term gain of the task/project/job/relationship doesn’t worth it. Always evaluate the opportunity cost of the things you do and focus all your efforts on the things that have the highest long-term gain.

Also, this was my strategy for any accomplishment I had in my life: Focus on one thing that matters the most and quit doing all the other things (tasks/projects/activities…) which consume your attention, energy, time, and other resources. Because this way, you have a better chance at achieving your objective by freeing up resources for what really matters.

A really short (~3.5 hours) and interesting read.

What do you think of quitting?

Happy reading!
