Conventional wisdom, from conventional people living conventional lives, gets you a conventional outcome.

Ideas presented in this book are the opposite of conventional wisdom.

Some worthy lines:

“You can’t beat someone who’s making the rules. You need to redefine the rules, not just build something slightly better.”

“Once ego and pride are on the line, you can’t change your mind without looking bad. The desire to save face trumps the desire to make the right call. And then there’s inertia too: The more steam you put into going in one direction, the harder it is to change course. If you already spent too much time on something that wasn’t worth it, walk away. You can’t get that time back. The worst thing you can do now is waste even more time.”

“Focus on competitors too much and you wind up diluting your own vision. Your chances of coming up with something fresh go way down when you keep feeding your brain other people’s ideas. You become reactionary instead of visionary. You wind up offering your competitor’s products with a different coat of paint.”

It was so much fun to read, especially because topics were 1-2 pages each.

It was also the first book that I started to track my progress on my own reading app with more than 290 notes and highlights!
